The “Seaside House” is located on the sunny hills of Akchalar, a couple of kilometers north of Varna, Bulgaria. The project had 2 main characteristics: the amazing view of Varna Bay from a decent height and the psychological role of our team as mediators between the owner’s family members. Our efforts and multidisciplinary approach have had tremendous results in the architecture. We managed to combine traditional stone masonry with modern cubic glazing volumes in one minimalistic structure.
The existing building was in very bad shape, so the demolition of the upper parts was more than needed, while the new structure was calmly integrated above. Stone masonry structural walls with timber construction in combination with insulation from natural-based materials and interior clay and lime plasters quietly improved the living comfort of the dwelling.
